ANNUAL LESLEY HALE CHARITY CONCERT

Every year we hold a charity concert to raise money for good causes. The concert is named after the great Lesley Hale, a founding member of folk legends Bitter Withy and a much loved member of Nitten Folk Club. Sadly Lesley passed away in 2009 and the annual charity concert has borne her name ever since.

We usually seek to support a local charity; the charity selected this year is the Scots Music Group.  The group actively supports and encourages young students to develop the skills and confidence to take their music back into their own communities. Over the years, the organisation has been instrumental in the resurgence of interest in Scottish traditional music, song and dance, both in Edinburgh and further afield. You can look forward to such local superstars as The Curries (hot stuff, indeed), The Nittles (Nitten’s own Fab Two), Hoolet (following their superb show on the Edinburgh Fringe) and a host of other wonderful acts.

This year the Charity Concert will be held on 1st October. Tickets are £10.00 and this includes the cost of tasty hot food, which will be provided during the break, They are on sale now and they go like hot cakes so make sure you get yours promptly. A wonderful evening is guaranteed
